Just a quick entry today… we still have no internet in our new house but it should be arriving next week.
I’ve never really been one to make new year’s resolutions… but this year I have decided to think of some small goals that I would like to achieve this year.
Last year I made the huge decision to start looking after myself, and the benefits of this decision were tremendous. I have more energy and feel happier, and my body is so thankful for the changes I have made to my routine. Looking back, I can’t believe how unhealthy I used to be. This year I hope to continue this way.
Last year I planned to read twelve books. Due to my almost three-hour commute daily once I started my new job, I managed to read thirty-eight books instead. That was rather pleasing! This year I know I won’t be able to read as much as now I cycle to work, but I will still aim for at least twelve once more.
Small, manageable goals are the key. Rather than saying “On January the first I will stop eating junk food” I think it’s easier on yourself to say something like “From January the first I will start focusing more on my health” so that you work towards your goal all year.
Last year was a good year: I finally found a job I enjoy, Alex also got an amazing job, we bought a house, we got fitter… I look forward to what’s to come in 2013.
