Banana berry smoothies

We recently bought a blender. It was a very good investment. Previously we had a hand blender, which meant we could only make one smoothie at a time. How time-consuming.

I have been very creative with my smoothies lately. I also like to add fibre, such as oats, to fill up my tummy a little more. Smoothies add variety to breakfast and are great for breakfast-on-the-go. I like that you can chuck in whatever you like, and I look forward to experimenting with more fruits come summer time.

If ever I have leftover smoothie, I add some vanilla yoghurt and pour it into icy-pop moulds for a great dessert throughout the week.

I like to prepare all the ingredients the night before in order to get 10 minutes extra sleep the following morning. Alex doesn’t like when I make smoothies however, because our house is small and the blender wakes him up. But he’s grateful later on. He was especially happy when I made these, because I served his in his special skull glass.

Banana berry smoothies

Ingredients
  1. 2 medium bananas
  2. 1 cup frozen berries
  3. 2 cups milk of choice
  4. 20g (¾oz) rolled oats
  5. 2 tsp ground flaxseed
  6. handful of ice
Instructions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a blender until well-combined.
  2. Pour neatly into two glasses.
